Ciminna is a town of great cultural identity with an inestimable heritage, where culture and spirituality are harmoniously intertwined, which, through its places, evokes emotions and suggestions with its historical and cultural heritage. Churches, votive shrines, fountains and squares are the rich artistic and monumental heritage that embellishes the town. There are many works and monuments signed by prestigious sculptors and painters, both foreign and local. Monuments and works that represent something special for the rarity and quality of the works, which live and tell us our history every day.
The characteristic historic center offers a suggestive itinerary through which intertwine narrow streets, closed and tortuous alleys, arches, patronal palaces, houses and numerous churches.
“The first question that arises in the history of a town is certainly that of its origin. But it cannot always be resolved with certainty, since most towns have their origins shrouded in the darkness of the past”. With these lines, the historian from Ciminna, Dr. Vito Graziano (1864 – 1942), begins to talk about his native town in the book “Ciminna, Memorie e Documenti”, attempting to shed light on the town’s foundation up to the period in which he lived.
