‘Nfriulata is a baked product of  Ciminna gastronomy linked to the traditional event “U Triunfu ra Marunnuzza”, a historic night procession that has been held unchanged for more than two hundred years, forming part of the local identity. The traditional and exclusive dish of this event is represented by ‘Nfriulati, focaccias made with minced pork, tomato pulp, onions, spices and various aromas that are accompanied by good new wine and a grilled sausage. ‘Nfriulata could derive from an ancient Roman recipe, perhaps deriving from the Latin infra, “in the middle”, and lata, “hidden”, with reference to the meat “hidden” inside the bread dough.

Every year the event “’Nfriulata Day” takes place, which aims to enhance the baked product in compliance with the typical local culinary tradition of Ciminnese.
