The celebration of Corpus Domini takes place over eight days “L’ottava ru Saramentu” (Sacrament octave). The Holy Mass is celebrated in the Mother Church and then the solemn Eucharistic exposition takes place until the evening, when the SS. Sacramento is carried in procession through the streets of Ciminna. The faithful welcome Jesus in the Eucharist in a solemn and joyful way, setting up small altars where the Eucharistic blessing is imparted, decorating the balconies of the houses with precious, finely embroidered blankets called “Cutre”  and covering the streets with broom flowers, roses and mint. During the procession some confreres of the SS. Sacramento, called “Babbuti”, wear a white tunic, a hood with a visor, a red cape and a red belt, with three bows, tied to the hips.
