The A.C.A.M. “Giuseppe Verdi” of Ciminna is a band complex of ancient origins founded, according to historical information, in 1820. The origin of musical activity in Ciminna began to take shape thanks to the presence in the town of many churches and a curia attentive to religious events where the presence of musical harmony was not to be lacking. Suffice it to say that the musician Vincenzo Amato, born in Ciminna on January 6, 1629 and died in Palermo on July 29, 1670, was elected choirmaster in the cathedral of Palermo and gave great impetus to sacred music of the 17th century.
For more than two centuries the Band Complex has animated the streets of Ciminna and the most important squares of Sicily and beyond. Its artistic-musical value is recognized internationally by experts and masters of international fame.
