The Chapel of Santa Maria di Loreto is a rural chapel near Ciminna. It was founded by the monks of the Church of San Francesco d’Assisi and remained under their care until the suppression of the religious orders in 1866. In the past, several Masses were celebrated here throughout the year. In 1821, these services were discontinued, and the related offerings, together with the chapel’s revenues, were used to restore the building, which had fallen into partial ruin.
Each year, on September 8, the chapel celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, preserving a long-standing local religious tradition.
